THE FIRE OF GOD

And now also the axe is at the root of the trees therefore every tree which brings not forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance but he that comes after me is mightier than I whose shoes I am not worthy to bear. He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire. Whose fan is in his hand and he will thoroughly purge his floor and gather his wheat into the garner but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.    (Mat3:10-12)

But I say unto you that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment and whosoever shall say to his brother; Raca shall be in danger of the council but whosoever shall say; You fool shall be in danger of hell fire  (Mat5:22)

As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire so shall it be in the end of the world (Mat 13:40)

So shall it be in the end of the world, the angels shall come forth and sever the wicked from among the just. And shall cast them into the furnace of fire there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth (Mat 13:50)

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire and it sat upon each of them (Acts 2:3)

And I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs in the earth beneath, blood and fire and vapor of smoke (Acts 2:19)

And when forty years were expired there appeared to him in the wilderness of Mt Sina and angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush (Acts 7:30)

And he shook off the beast into the fire and felt no harm (Acts 28:5)

Therefore if your enemy hunger feed him if he thirst give him drink for in so doing you shall heap coals of fire on his head (Rom 12:20)

For we are laborers together with God, you are God’s husbandry, you are God’s building. According to the grace of God which is given unto me as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation and another builds thereon. But let every man take heed how he builds thereon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble. Every man’s work shall be made manifest, for the day shall declare it because it shall be revealed by fire and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he has built thereupon he shall receive a reward. If any mans work shall be burned he shall suffer loss but he himself shall be saved yet as by fire (1 Cor 3:9-15)

And to you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels. In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power (2 Thes 1:7-9)

Quenched the violence of the flames, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in flight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens (Heb 11:34)

And the tongue is a fire a world of iniquity. So is the tongue among our members that it defiles the whole body and sets on fire the course of nature and it is set on fire of hell (Jas 3:6)

Go to now you rich men weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted and your garments are moth eaten. Your gold and silver is cankered and the rust of them shall be a witness against you and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. You have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold the hire of your laborers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you, kept back by fraud, cries and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of the sabaoth. You have lived in pleasure on the earth and been wanton you have nourished your hearts as in a day of slaughter. You have condemned and killed the just and he does not resist you (Jas 5:1-6)

But the heavens and the earth which are now by the same word are kept in store reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But beloved be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years and the thousand years as a day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise as some men count slackness but is longsuffering to us-ward not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise and the elements shall melt with fervent heat the earth also and the works that are within shall be burned up (2 Pet 3:7-12)

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha and the cities about them in like manner giving themselves over to fornication and going after strange flesh are set forth as an example suffering the vengeance of eternal fire (Jude 7)

And others save with fear pulling them out of the fire hating even the garment spotted by the flesh (Jude 23)

And the first angel sounded and there followed, hail and fire, mingled with blood and they were cast upon the earth and the third part of trees was burnt up and all green grass was burnt up (Rev 8:7)

And thus I saw the horses in the vision and them that sat on them having breastplates of fire and of jacinth and brimstone and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone (Rev 9:17)

And if any man will hurt them fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies and if any man will hurt them he must in this manner be killed (Rev 11:5)

Therefore shall her plagues come in one day death and mourning and famine and she shall be utterly burned with fire for strong is the Lord who judges her (Rev 18:8)

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever (Rev 20:10)
